What embedding means
One dependency inside your own product.
You reference the package, call Convert, and the PDF is produced inside your process. The compiled dependency ships with your application. You do not pay per seat, per server or per installation, and your customers never see a licence of their own.
Permitted under the licence
- Ship the unmodified compiled AltSoft.Xml2Pdf dependency inside applications your company builds and distributes.
- Deploy those applications to unlimited runtime environments, including hosted and SaaS deployments you operate.
- Install for unlimited customers and end users — no per-installation or per-customer fee.
- Let unlimited developers inside the licensed legal entity build against it, across unlimited applications and projects.
- Keep the purchased version running after the 12-month update window; no renewal is required.
Not covered
- Reselling or redistributing XML2PDF as a competing SDK, library or standalone product.
- Modifying the engine and redistributing the modified assemblies.
- Sublicensing the library as a standalone product, or letting an end customer extract it from your application.
Embedding is the right; reselling the library is not. If your product is a document SDK, talk to us before you buy.
Questions that are not about money
Per-seat, per-server, per-customer.
- Do I pay per developer?
- No. Unlimited developers within the licensed legal entity, including contractors working on your application.
- Do I pay per installation?
- No. Unlimited runtime deployments and customer installations. No per-server, per-document or per-customer fee.
- Is a hosted or SaaS product covered?
- Yes. Your application may run on servers you operate; the licence is about the company that ships it, not the machine it runs on.
- What about subsidiaries and contractors?
- Within the licensed entity. Authorized contractors working on the licensed company's behalf are covered, as are its employees. A company or individual using it for their own business needs its own licence.
- What can my end customers do?
- Use your application. Their use is covered and needs no licence from us. They cannot extract the library and redistribute it as their own SDK.
- Do I have to renew?
- No. The licence is perpetual for the version you buy. 12 months of released updates are included; after that the product keeps working as purchased.
